Standing Firm

"So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up."
Galatians 6:9, NLT

As I read my Bible this morning, I come under conviction. I have been trying to help someone for the last couple of months, who seems hopeless in the flesh. However I know with God, all things are possible. Just as I have come to the end of my spiritual rope, the Lord sends me this scripture. What an awesome God we serve!!
As a Christian, it is my duty and privilage to; proclaim the gospel, care for widows & orphans and help the poor. In my flesh, this seems like an overwhelming task. However, as I go about my daily routine I find that if I stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit, he will direct my path to who He wants me to serve.
I confess that I don't always react to every situation as I should, and sometimes I blow it so bed that I am almost to ashamed to even face certain people again. For instance yesterday at work, a guy I've been having some tension with (but at the same time have been trying to witness to,) said something out of line to me and I lost my temper. We ended up outside yelling at each other and I really wanted to hit this guy in the mouth. Fortunately one of the other guys kind of got in between us, so the only thing that got hurt was my pride and my reputation.
Today I have to go in and apologize to the entire office for making an ass out of myself. Talk about a lesson in humility. I guess I said all of that to say this. I could take the easy way out and stop trying to do the right thing or swallow my pride, ask for forgiveness from those I offended and keep pressing toward the mark. #1 is not any real kind of an option, because that would give the enemy the victory.
Keep presing toward the mark, don't allow a setback to rob you of your joy, or passion for doing good.
"The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up afain. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked." Prov 24:16 NLT
