Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. Luke 6:38 NLT
There are so many scriptures dealing with the promises of God to meet our need, that I can only count them with the help of my modern electronics, however this is not one of them. I know that many preachers use this when trying to raise funds, but Jesus used this illustration as an example of how we should treat others. Lets take a look;
"Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven." Luke 6:37
This verse is just before our Daily Scripture, he wasn't speaking on monetary blessings, or physical needs. He was speaking about the condition of our heart. A forgiving spirit demonstrates that a person has received God's forgiveness. Jesus used the picture of measuring grain in a basket to ensure the full amount. If we are critical rather than compassionate, we will also receive criticism. If we treat others generously, graciously, and compassionately, however, these qualities will come back to us in full measure. We are to love others, not judge them.
