Pray for Them All

"I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them." 1 Tim 2:1 NLT

As Christian's, it is very important to pray! What kind of relationship would you have with your spouse, if you never talked to each other? It's the same with God. Prayer is simply talking with the Lord. What I find interesting, is that it's such an important part of our walk that Jesus taught us how we should pray. Mt 6:9-15 Then Paul teaches that we should pray continually. 1 Thes 5:17
One of the places where I believe we miss God, is in our prayer life. God isn't some great big Santa Claus, that I am supposed to hand a wish list to each morning. He isn't my private geni, that is waiting to grant all my requests. He is my Lord & King, my creator. Yes, he is also my provider, my strength, my shelter! He is my all in all, and He loves me with a love that is so mind boggling, that I can't even begin to wrap my brain around it.
In Paul's letter to Timothy, he urges him to intercede for all people. Why would he do that? Because the "prayers of a righteous man prevaileth much." In other words, God will honor the prayers of His children. If you have friends & family that aren't saved, pray for them. Pray for your church leaders, pray for those who have authority over you. Pray for people who have done you dirty. Give thanks for loved ones that are saved. Become an intercessor.
I know that sometimes it can be hard to pray, especially for the people in authority or that have hurt you, but allow the Holy Spirit to lead you who to pray for. He will bring them to your mind, and when he does, be obedient, lift them up to the Lord.
